K výzkumu byla použita metoda dotazníkového šetření. V práci jsou zmiňovány i výsledky významných předchozích výzkumů, které byly provedeny po roce 1989. Práce zahrnuje a vyhodnocuje odpovědi na aktuální otázky týkající se vztahu mladé generace k četbě, jakož i další aspekty, které četbu podmiňují a ovlivňují. The dissertation deals with reading issues at three selected secondary schools in Chomutov. The method of questionnaire inquiry was used for the research. Results of significant previous research, accomplished after 1989. The dissertation includes and evaluates answers to current questions concerning the relationship of the young generation to reading as well as other aspects that determine and influence reading.
