V první kapitole jsou popsány první kroky Shakespeara z Anglie do celé Evropy, důležitost anglických kočovných společností a jejich herců. Druhá kapitola se zabývá prvními překlady Shakespearových děl do němčiny a navazující třetí kapitola pojednává o uvádění Shakespeara na německé divadelní scéně. Čtvrtá část se věnuje krátce vývoji divadla v českých zemích a prvním českým překladům Shakespeara a jejich uvádění na divadle. V páté kapitole jsou zmíněny první české texty, které se věnují Shakespearovi a jeho tvorbě a blíže rozebraný text ?W. Shakespeare? od Václava Bolemíra Nebeského. V šesté kapitole je popsáno působení Shakespeara v Německu, vznik Shakespearovy společnosti a text ?Der Geist Shakespeares? od Christopha Martina Wielanda. Závěrečná část ukazuje vztah Čechů k Němcům kvůli Shakespearovi. The main theme of this study is the entrance of Shakespeare into Czech and German literature. The first chapter describes the initial steps of Shakespeare from England to Europe, the importance of English actors and their traveling acting companies. The second chapter follows first Shakespeare´s translations to German language and next chapter notes the entrée of Shakespeare to German theatre. The fourth part shortly touches on the course of theatre in Czech lands and first Czech translations of Shakespeare together with first theater representations. In the fifth chapter is a summary of first Czech texts that follow Shakespeare?s works and an analysis of the text of Václav Bolemír Nebeský ?W. Shakespeare? The sixth chapter describes the effects of Shakespeare´s work in Germany, the foundation of Shakespeare´s company and the text ?Der Geist Shakespeares? from Christoph Martin Wieland.
