As the topic of my bachelor thesis I have chosen The development of settlement in the municipality of Prostřední Žleb. In my thesis I tried to cover the period from 1945 when the municipality was annexed to the town of Děčín. The thesis consists of two distinct parts. The first one is dedicated to the explanation of the work with the literature I used and introduces the process of displacement of German population and the resettlement of the border region. It also includes a brief outline of history of Prostřední žleb. The second one deals with the oral history method, including the testimonies of narrators rememberring that times. The aim of my thesis was not bringing any new factografic findigs, but showing the everyday life of resettlers in the border region. I decided to choose the area of Prostřední Žleb because I have close contacts to local people who were very willing to cooperate as narrators.
