Předpokladem je i zasazení Kirschnerova působení do kontextu rozvoje města Ústí nad Labem a vývoje ústecké vlastivědy jako takové. Součástí práce je i srovnání s ostatními vlastivědci a odborníky, obzvláště s teplickým archeologem Robertem von Weinzierlem. Základem pro tuto práci je osobní fond Adolfa Kirschnera uložený v Archivu města Ústí nad Labem, dále dobový tisk či výroční zprávy ústeckého muzea. The objective of this thesis is to elaborate the summary of activities of Adolf Kirschner and to present him as a regional scientist, museum employer and publicist.The premise is the contextualization of Kirschner´s activities in the development of the city of Ústí n. L. and of the Ústí´s homeland study in itself. The constituent of this work is the comparison with other homeland scientists, especially with Teplice´s archeologist R. von Weinzierl. The basis fot this work is the personal fund of Adolf Kirschner, saved in the city archives of Ústí n. L., then contemporary press and the annual reports of the city museum of Ústí n. L.
