Abstract Ve své diplomové práci jsem se zabývala postavením žen v období antiky. Snažila jsem se zde postihnout přístup různých lidských společenství k příslušnicím ženského pohlaví. Od původního matriarchátu, kdy měly ženy dominantní postavení, až po dcery a manželky bez všech občanských práv. Cílem práce pak bylo odhalit, jestli se některé příslušnice dokázaly vymanit z tohoto uspořádání nebo jestli zůstaly v područí mužů. Získané poznatky jsem pak shrnula v závěru práce. In this diploma thesis I have concerned with a women´s position in the classical age. I have tryed to describe a way how different human socialities disposed of female gender. From authentic matriarchy, when woman had dominant position, up to daughters and wives without civil liberties. The aim of this thesis was discovering, if some women could release from this lay-out or if they stood under the thumb of men.
