Briefwechsel Theodor Fontanes mit Fritz Mauthner / Barbora Habichová. -- 2021. -- 42 listů : ilustrace. -- Oponent Jana Hrdličková. -- Vedoucí práce Veronika Jičínská. -- Název a text práce v německém jazyce. -- Abstract: Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vztah mezi Theodorem Fontanem a Fritzem Mauthnerem na základě jejich korespondence vydané Frederickem Betzem a Jörgem Thuneckem v letech 1984 a 1985. Analyzovány jsou zejména rozdíly a paralely s ohledem na postavení Fontaneho a Mauthnera v Berlíně na konci 19. století, jejich autorské dílo, jejich politické identity a jejich postoje k judaismu a antisemitismu. Zde lze nalézt výrazné rozdíly s ohledem na původ, literární úspěch, politické názory (zejména na Ottu von Bismarcka) a náboženství. Tyto rozdíly jsou silně utvářeny Mauthnerovým židovským původem a ranými léty prožitými v multietnickém prostředí habsburské monarchie, které formovaly některé jeho postoje, a kontrastují tak s Fontaneho prusismem. Je zajímavé, že tento potenciální konflikt není ve zkoumané korespondenci téměř vůbec vyjádřen. Místo toho poskytuje vhled do přátelství zaměřeného na aktivitu sdíleného psaní. Analýza sekundární literatury a další dopisy od Fontaneho jeho známým však ukazují, že toto přátelství mělo také mnoho stinných stránek. Z toho lze usoudit, že napětí ve vztahu mezi těmito dvěma muži je dáno spíše rozdílným charakterem než sociokulturními či politickými pozicemi.. -- Abstract: This bachelor thesis examines the relationship between Theodor Fontane and Fritz Mauthner on the basis of their correspondence published by Frederick Betz and Jörg Thunecke in 1984 and 1985. Subject of the analysis are Fontane's and Mauthner's writings, political identities, and attitudes toward Judaism and anti-Semitism against the backdrop of both autors' social and artistic standing in late nineteenth-century Berlin. Here, significant differences can be found with regard to origin, literary achievement, political views (especially on Otto von Bismarck), and religion. These differences are strongly influenced by Mauthner's Jewish origins and his early years in the multi-ethnic environment of the Habsburg monarchy which shaped some of his attitudes, and thus contrast with Fontane's Prussianism. Interestingly, this potential conflict is hardly expressed at all in the correspondence examined. Instead, the correspondence provides insight into a friendship centered on the activity of shared writing. However, an analysis of the secondary sources and other letters from Fontane to his acquaintances shows that this friendship also had many downsides. The tension in the relationship between the two men is therefore more likely due to differences in character rather than their social, cultural, or political positions.
