The essence of humanity and dignity in the novel Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro / Petra Shamalová. -- 2019. -- 49 listů. -- Vedoucí práce Anna Kinovičová. -- Oponent Colin Steele Clark. -- Název a text práce v anglickém jazyce. -- Abstract: Cílem této bakalářské práce je hlubší studium dvou výrazných konceptů prolínajících se v románu Kazua Ishigura Neopouštěj Mě, jimiž jsou realistické rysy i postmoderní prvky prolínající se v románu, jakožto prostředky, kterými autor docílil ztvárnit hlavní postavy - klony, takovým způsobem, který nejen že evokuje jejich lidskost, ale i navíc otevírá pomyslné dveře filosofickým otázkám naší technicky předimenzované budoucnosti. Tenká pomyslná hranice mezi lidmi a klony vyvstává na povrch a vyzývá čtenáře zamyslet se nad vlastní podstatou lidskosti. Jako teoretický základ pro analýzu práce slouží vymezení postmoderních prvků jako je fragmentace, hyperrealita a nespolehlivý vypravěč, jenž jsou součástí první kapitoly. Autor svým jedinečným narativním stylem ztvárnil hlavní postavy jako metaforu k lidským životům a způsobem, jakým dal klonům autenticitu, se zabývá druhá kapitola této práce. Na ni poté navazuje poslední podkapitola, která pojednává o otázkách lidskosti a zejména toho, zda se lidské klony mohou ve svém životě cítit důstojně a najít smysl svého života.. -- Abstract: The aim of this bachelor thesis is a deeper study of significant topics of humanity and dignity that are interwoven within the novel Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Firstly, it is the realistic features and postmodern elements that serve as tools for the author to create the main characters - clones, and secondly, by means of these tools, not only evoke the clones' humanity but also open the imaginary door to philosophical questions of our technologically challenged future. A thin borderline between an ordinary human being and human clones gives raise to many questions and provokes the readers into thinking about the very essence of humanity. The theoretical basis for the analysis of the novel is the definition of postmodern elements such as fragmentation, hyperreality and the unreliable narrator which are part of the first chapter. The author through his genuine narrative style created the main characters as a metaphor to the human existence and the elements he used to establish such an authenticity are described in the second chapter of this bachelor thesis. In the last subchapter, the thesis puts the emphasis on the questions of humanity and particularly on the question of dignity in respect to human clones. Whether the clones are able to obtain dignity and if they could possibly find the essence of their lives.
