Těmi jsou Svět podle Garpa, Pravidla moštárny a Modlitba za Owena Meanyho. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část nastiňuje problematiku postmoderní literatury a přibližuje dílo Johna Irvinga, jeho autorský styl a zabývá se otázkou jeho popularity. Praktická část zahrnuje klíčové aspekty jednotlivých knih a jejich rozbor v kontextu americké společnosti.. -- Abstract: The bachelor thesis An Analysis of social and ethic aspects in the works of John Irving deals with three major works by the popular american author, John Irving. These are The World According to Garp, The Cider House Rules and A Prayer for Owen Meany. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part introduces into the problems of postmodern literature and describes the work of John Irving, his style and deals with the matter of his popularity. The practical part includes crucial aspects of individual books and their analysis in the context of the American society.
