Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První je textová. Zahrnuje úvod s cíly, charakteristiku programu a postup práce v ArcView 3. 2. a Corel Draw 11, metodiku práce, fyzickogeografickou a socioekonomickou charakteristiku kraje a historii s definicí atlasu. Druhá část je mapová, kterou tvoří samotný atlas. Ten obsahuje nejprve mapy, které charakterizují přírodní potenciál kraje, dále následují mapy zemědělství a po nich mapy průmyslu. Mapy slouží k představě o rozmístění a struktuře zemědělských plodin, zvířat a zemědělských podniků, dále k zobrazení rozmístění jednotlivých druhů průmyslových odvětví a průmyslových firem. K porovnání s ostatními kraji jsou zde vytvořeny mapy České republiky rozdělené do krajů. Textová část přiblíží čtenáři Ústecký kraj. Dočte se, kterými metodami byl atlas vytvořen a poslouží studentům jako návod, jak si podobný atlas vytvoří sami. Mapová část nám ukazuje, jak je Ústecký kraj koncipován. Dozvíme se, kolik a kde se co pěstuje či chová, jak je po kraji rozmístěn průmysl, které firmy mají na území kraje své sídlo. Navíc jsou mapy popsány i anglickou legendou a doplněny pro větší názornost fotografiemi a grafy. Atlas se proto hodí jako doplněk pro školní výuku zeměpisu na středních či vysokých školách nejen pro české, ale i pro zahraniční studenty, nebo poslouží veřejnosti.. -- Abstract: This diploma work yields the atlas of the Ústí nad Labem region which is centered on agriculture and industry. Work is divided in two parts. The first part is a text section. It includes the introduction and the aims, the characteristics of an action and the procedure of work in ArcView 3.2. and Corel Draw 11, the methodology of work, physicalgeographical and socialeconomic characteristcs of the region and history with definition of the atlas. The second part is cartographical, which creates this atlas. The atlas includes first maps to describe the natural potential of region, second follow maps of agriculture and last maps of industry. Maps are instrumental towards vizualization of dislocation and of layout of crops, animals and farming. Than to display the dislocation of particular branches of industry and industrial companies . Comparable to other regions there are created maps of Czech republic divided into regions. Text part brings near the reader the region of Ústí nad Labem. He can finds what methods were used to create this atlas and answers for students directions to create this atlas themselves. The map part shows the frame of the region of Ústí nad Labem. We can learn the number and place of planting and farming, how is the industry set out there and what companies have their quarters in this district. Moreover the maps are described in English text, photographs and graphs are added for visual aids. The atlas come in handy as a suplement for geography lessons at secondary schools or universities not only for Czech students but also for foreign students or stands in good stead for public.
