Zatímco některá menší města (a zejména obce) zaznamenala ve sledovaném období dramatický úbytek židovské populace, jiná zůstala relativně demograficky stabilní, a to hlavně díky příchodu židovských obyvatel z okolních venkovských obcí. Poslední kapitola je pak věnována spojení vídeňských migrantů s původní domovinou a tomu, jakou roli v tomto procesu sehrály místní "krajanské" spolky, náboženská tradice a praxe. -- Abstract: The dissertation West Moravian Jews in Vienna 1867-1914 deals with the topic of the migration of the Jewish population from the towns and villages of the western part of Moravia to the capital of the Habsburg Monarchy. It mainly focuses on the period after their full equal rights recognition, but it also does not neglect key social and legislative reforms in previous periods, which had a direct and fundamental impact on Jews in the monitored time period. The presented text generally follows two lines of issues connected with this type of migration. It deals with the situation in the home region and subsequently also with the way of life of immigrants in Vienna. The work examines various factors that contributed to the decision of individuals or families to relocate and points out the consequences that this migration had on the Jewish communities in the Moravian homeland. While some smaller towns (and especially villages) experienced a dramatic decline in the Jewish population in the monitored period, others remained relatively demographically stable, mainly due to the arrival of Jewish residents from the surrounding rural communities. Not only were the reasons for leaving different, but also the strategies that Jewish families or individuals chose to migrate. The text presents several examples of the most common migration schemes that appeared in the selected group. The second part of the dissertation is devoted to the life of West Moravian Jewish migrants in Vienna itself. The character of the districts in which the Jews were most concentrated in the capital, the socio-economic development that took place, and the role of social networks that facilitated the adaptation of newcomers in the capital are pointed out here. Vienna of the observed period represented a city of many possibilities for Jewish immigrants, but at the same time it was also a breeding ground for growing anti-Semitism. Despite this antagonism, many Jewish migrants have found opportunities for social advancement here and also participate in the developing cultural and intellectual life of the city. The last chapter is devoted to the connection of Viennese migrants with the original Moravian homeland and what role local "compatriot" organizations, religious tradition and practice played in this process. In this part, the question of Jewish identity is also indirectly emphasized, the plurality clearly arises from a number of examples that were chosen within the microprobe method. The conclusion of the dissertation recapitulates the various levels of migration of the Jewish population from the monitored territory and returns to the more general questions of the transformation of Jewish communities, especially in Moravia, the far-reaching effects of Jewish emancipation and the motives that led Jews to leave for the capital of the Habsburg Monarchy. At the same time, it emphasizes that migration in this case cannot be viewed as a linear process.
