Název a text práce v anglickém jazyce Abstract Tato diplomová práce se zabývá způsoby zvýšení motivace ve výuce anglického jazyka u žáků 9. ročníku ke konci jejich povinné školní docházky, kdy již vědí, že jsou přijati ke studiu na středních školách. Práce prokazuje, že využití dvou forem projektů, kterými jsou WebQuesty a výuka mladších žáků žáky devátého ročníku, pomáhá jejich motivaci skutečně zvýšit. Teoretická část diplomové práce se zabývá psychosomatickým vývojem dětí, ale hlavní důraz je kladen na projektovou práci, WebQuesty, výuku samotnými žáky, benefity s tím spojenými a především na vliv výše zmíněného na vnitřní motivaci žáků. V praktické části jsou prezentovány výsledky výzkumu, který byl proveden v 9. ročníku základní školy. Tito žáci vytvořili v anglickém jazyce WebQuesty pro své mladší spolužáky a následně i sami odučili hodiny, kde žáci nižších ročníků WebQuesty plnili. Po každé fázi experimentu byl žákům dán dotazník k vyplnění. Tento výzkum prokázal, že projektová práce, konkrétně příprava WebQuestů a vyučování samotnými žáky, pomůže zvýšit vnitřní motivaci žáků 9. ročníku. Díky tomu mohou aktivně pracovat až do konce své povinné školní docházky. This thesis deals with ways to increase the motivation of the 9th graders', when learning English at the end of their compulsory school attendance once they know that they have been accepted to secondary schools. This paper proves that using project work, more precisely a WebQuest, in peer teaching helps to increase the 9th graders motivation. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the 9th graders' motivation. It explores various kinds of motivation in relation to the target age group with a primary focus on intrinsic motivation. It also discusses the didactic potential of project work and its stages with an emphasis on WebQuests and finally the techniques of peer teaching and its benefits for the pupils and teachers are depicted there. The practical part presents the results of the research, which was conducted in the 9th grade at a lower secondary school. During the experiment, the 9th graders created WebQuests in English for their younger peers and later peer-taught the junior peers. After all phases of the action research pupils filled in the questionnaires. This research proved that project work, specifically WebQuest creation, and peer teaching can help to increase the 9th graders' intrinsic motivation while learning English in the concluding phase of low secondary school.
