Numerical system in spatial music composition, sound diffusion and controlling video(s) structure development process - Focus on ancient Chinese Celestial stem (decimal cycle) and Earthly Branches (duodecimal cycle) system / Yuk Bun Wan. -- 2023. -- 170 listů : barevné ilustrace, grafy, schémata. -- Vedoucí práce Michal Koleček. -- Oponent Martin Flašar. -- Oponent Jan Trojan. -- Název a text práce v anglickém jazyce. -- Abstract: The main purpose of this research was to find ways of applying ancient Chinese numerical systems: Wu Xing, Yin Yang, Bagua, Celestial stem and Earthly Branches to music, visual composition and 3D (full-sphere) sound diffusion over Ambisonic. The numerical system is diffusely applied to many different fields such as medicine, Feng Shui and Chinese fortune-telling. Each component worked very simply and directly individually; however, when they worked together, they could be very complex. It had a very high potential for building up the methods for sonic and visual composition with spatial sound diffusion by its semi-indeterminacy, flexible and accurate characters. Secondly, carefully analysing selected audiovisual masterpieces, researching synesthesia art and Ma (), in order to apply the aesthetic elements to the system, made it more comprehensive, not only providing the method for composition and diffusion but also including artistic value. The results of this research could be used to find how the previously mentioned numerical system contributed to the compositional process for both video and sonic parts as well as spatial sound diffusion. The findings may be useful in creating sonic, visual and audio-visual artworks for both live performances on the stage and fixed media installation in the gallery..
