Překlad neologismů a vlastních jmen v trilogii Pán prstenů = Translation of neologisms and proper names in the Lord of the Rings trilogy / Jan Pokorný. -- 2022. -- 53 listů. -- Vedoucí práce Jana Pavlíková. -- Oponent Zuzana Procházková. -- Souběžný název v anglickém jazyce. -- Abstract: Tématem této bakalářské práce je analýza vlastních jmen a neologismů v Tolkienově Pánu prstenů, konkrétně jejich překladem Stanislavou Pošustovou-Menšíkovou a v několika případech také Františkem Vrbou. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a analytickou část, z nichž první jmenovaná se zabývá teorií překladu a slovotvorby obou jazyků a rovněž stručně shrnuje další práci překladatelky. Část analytická sestává z konkrétních pojmů, které byly zkoumány. Pojmy jsou pro přehlednost rozděleny do několika kategorií, je analyzován slovotvorný proces, jímž byly utvořeny a v případě potřeby je navržen překlad, který považuji za vhodnější. Práci uzavírá souhrnná tabulka, obsahující všechny analyzované pojmy, jejich oficiální překlad a navrhovaný alternativní překlad.. -- Abstract: The topic of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the proper names and neologisms in The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien and the translation thereof into Czech by Stanislava Pošustová-Menšíková and by František Vrba in a few odd cases. The thesis consists of a theoretical and analytical parts, the former introducing the theory of translation and word formation of both concerned languages and summarising the translator's further work. The analytical part contains a categorised list of the analysed terms. Those are examined for their lexical origin and in some cases an alternative translation is suggested, if deemed more suitable. At the end of the thesis, there is a table containing all the terms analysed above, their published translation and the alternative, if it was presented in the main text. The goal of the thesis is to evaluate the names and neologisms; namely how loyal they are to their English counterparts, whether they draw too much attention to themselves and away from the text as a whole and do not impair the reader's ability to enjoy the story and how well they fit into the story's context.
