Byl to jeden z prvních zajateckých táborů ve Velké válce na území Rakousko-Uherska, v určitém období i zdaleka největším zajateckým táborem v celé monarchii a kvůli své velikosti znamenal i velký zásah do života města. Nadregionální význam mu potom dodal rozsáhlý antropologický výzkum, který zde během války probíhal. V této práci se tedy pokusím přiblížit jeho historii od založení, přes fungování a jeho působení na obyvatele, až po jeho rozebrání.. -- Abstract: The theme of my thesis is the POW camp in Liberec, which was located in Ostašov and Růžodol in 1914-1918. I chose this topic because it deserves deeper knowledge than a few marginal paragraphs in regional historical literature. It was one of the first POW camp in the Great war in the monarchy, and at some time by far the largest POW camp in the entire monerchy and because of its size it meant a major intervertion in the city life. Extensive regional anthropological research, which took place in this location during the war gave him supra-regional significance. In this thesis I´ m going to try to describe its history from establishment through functioning and influence on the inhabitans to disassembly.
