Název a text práce v anglickém jazyce Abstract Tato diplomová práce je založena na faktu, že William Carlos Williams není jedním z takzvaných "perfektních Imagistů", a proto se jeho literární styl měnil v průběhu let v důsledku různých intervenujících vlivů. Cílem této práce je analyzovat, jaké konkrétní změny literárního stylu se u Williamse objevily po jeho odchodu z imagistického hnutí, kdy zároveň začal formovat svůj vlastní, naprosto specifický styl psaní poezie. Kontrast mezi jeho imagistickou a pozdní poezií je v této práci znázorněn praktickou částí skládající se z pěti analýz. Básně zahrnuté do těchto rozborů byly vybrány na základě jejich relevance a jejich vzájemných kontrastujících prvků. V závěru této diplomové práce jsou z těchto rozborů vybrány ony specifické změny a jsou zahrnuty do celkového shrnutí. Příklady takových změn jsou například Williamsův změněný postoj k direktivitě básně, či jeho vnímání pojmu představivost. This thesis is based on the fact that William Carlos Williams was not one of the "perfect Imagists" and his poetry was influenced by many intervening factors. The aim of this thesis is to analyze how specifically his literary style changed after he had left the Imagist movement and had started to create his own individual poetic style. The contrast between his poems published during his years in the Imagist movement and his later poetry is shown in the practical part of this thesis consisting of five analyses. The poems inspected there have been chosen due to their relevancy or their contrasting features. In conclusion, specific changes of Williams' literary style are elicited and summarized including the differences in the poems' directness or in his perception of the term 'imagination'.
