Zmíněná díla sdílí mnoho společných znaků, přestože je od sebe dělí více než šedesát let. Huxley ve svém díle Konec civilizace varuje před možnými nebezpečnými důsledky konzumního způsobu života, zatímco ho Palahniuk v Klubu rváčů podrobuje kritice. Cílem této práce je najít společné, či naopak rozdílné znaky obou děl a porovnat stav současné společnosti, zprostředkovaný v díle Chucka Palahniuka, s dystopickou vizí díla Aldouse Huxleyho. The thesis critically compares two novels Brave New World and Fight Club. Despite that the creation of these two novels parts more than sixty years they share a very large number of similarities. In his work Brave New World Huxley warns us against possible dangerous implications of the consumer way of life; Palahniuk, on the other hand, puts this very manner of life under scrutiny. The aim of this thesis is finding similar or contradictory features in these novels and the comparison of today's society, portrayed by Chuck Palahniuk, with the dystopian vision of Aldous Huxley.
