Mapuje dvě časová období plaveckého sportu. První z nich se datuje od poválečných let až po rok 1989 a nabízí ucelený pohled na důležitá období plaveckého sportu počínaje založením prvních plaveckých klubů, historií plaveckých areálů, krizí plaveckého sportu, přes důležité plavecké a trenérské osobnosti, až po sportovní plavecké třídy. Druhé období se datuje od roku 1989 až po současnost a zahrnuje současné plavecké kluby, jejich finanční situaci, práci s mládeží, plány do budoucna a nové plavecké naděje a jejich úspěchy u nás i ve světě. This work deals with the history of competitive swimming in Ústí nad Labem. It surveys two periods of swimming sport. The first one dates from the postwar years to 1989 and offers the coherent view of the important events in swimming sport from the establishment of first swimming clubs, the history of swimming centres, the crisis of swimming sport, up to sport swimming classes. The second period dates from 1989 up to the present day and covers contemporary clubs, their financial situation, work with youth, future plans and clubs´ swimming young hopefuls and their home achievements and also in the world.
