Práce je členěna do dvou částí.V první části jsou definovány a vysvětleny pojmy související s tématem práce. Druhá část obsahuje konkrétní analýzu časových vět na základě morfologických, syntaktických, lexikálně-sémantických aspektů a aspektu kontextu.. -- Abstract: The aim of the thesis is to analyse the functions and structures of time sentences in the contemporary German. The analysis is based on the excerption of the authentic written texts. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the theoretical notions which are connected with this topic. The following notions are defined and explained: time, tense, the system od tenses in German, the system of verbal aspects, consecutio temporum, the sequence of tenses, future tense, sequence, time clause , time conjunctions, context, the perception of time sentences, text, the type of the text, news, report, commentary, interview, the letter from a reader, questionnaire and narration. The second part deals with the concrete analysis of the time sentences based on the types of the texts. The time sentences are examined from the aspect of morfology, syntax, lexical and semantic perspective as well as the contextual aspect. Based on the assessment of the analysis the following findings have been found out. 1. Not only the various types of the texts and their stylistical features, but also the thematic areas of the texts have the influence on the occurrence of the time sentences. 2. The system of verbal aspects may be affected by the incidence of the time conjuction and context.3. There are unusual syntactic structures of the time sentences in the texts. 4. The occurence of the various combinations of the tense in the compound sentence, which according to consecutio temporum affect the rules. 5. To determine the tense relation ( sequence of tenses) in the temporal compound sentence the semantic meaning of words and time conjuction are the most deciding factors. This result based on the analysis of the texts proves the predefined hypothesis: The tense is not the decisive factor for sequence of tenses and sequence as such.
