Název a text v anglickém jazyce Abstract Tato diplomová práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá dvěma tématy. Prvním z nich je lexikální inovace probíhající v anglickém jazyce. Autorka představuje definici neologismů, jejich vznik, typologii a funkce. Druhým tématem je osvojování cizího jazyka, konkrétně sociokulturní faktory a individuální rozdíly mezi studenty, které mají na osvojování vliv. V praktické části autorka zkoumá vliv pohlaví a věku studentů na užití a chápání významu neologismů, které se do jejich jazyka přenesly prostřednictvím médií, především internetu. This diploma thesis deals with two topics in its theoretical part. The first topic is lexical innovation in the English language. The author introduces the definition of neologisms, their formation, typology, and functions. The next topic is second language acquisition, especially the sociocultural factors and individual learner differences, which influence language acquisition. In the practical part, the author studies the influence of the students' gender and age on the use and meaning of selected new formations, which the students adopted from the media, particularly the internet.
