Vymezuje jednotlivé české překladatelské generace, charakterizuje je a uvádí vůdčí osobnosti daných generací a jejich překladatelské styly. Kromě toho je zde uveden také přehled všech překladů Romea a Julie do češtiny. Dále formuluje obecné principy překladu se zaměřením na specifičnost shakespearovského překladu. To se týká především problému použití blankversu v českém jazyce. Součástí je i srovnání čtyř vybraných překladů (F. Doucha, E. A. Saudek, J. Topol a M. Hilský), na kterých je ukázáno, jak se vyvíjel pohled na Romea a Julii v českém kontextu. This bachelor thesis deals with the Czech translations of William Shakespeare´s play Romeo and Juliet. It defines the individual generations of Czech translators, describes them and presents the leaders of the given generations and their translation styles. In addition, an overview of all Czech translators of Romeo and Juliet is stated here. Furthermore, this thesis formulates general rules of the translation with a focus on the particularity of Shakespearean translation. This concerns mainly the problem of the use of blank verse in the Czech language. Part of the thesis comprises a comparasion of four selected translators (F. Doucha, E. A. Saudek, J. Topol, M.
