Dále se práce věnuje geografii ostrova (fyzicko-geografický a socioekonomický přehled). Cílem práce bylo představit problematiku etnického konfliktu na Kypru a vytvořit ucelenou práci o ostrově. Základní metodou použitou při zpracování byla metoda kompilace zdrojů. Rozpory mezi etnickými skupinami na ostrově mají kořeny v historii obou etnik a rozdělení ostrova Kypr trvá již velice dlouho. I když se v posledních dvou letech vedou rozhovory o sjednocení ostrova, problematika sjednocení je tak složitá, že si obyvatelstvo ostrova asi ještě několik let počká na vyřešení kyperské otázky. This bachelor work is focusing on the island of Cyprus, particularly on the ethnic problems between cypriot Greeks and cypriot Turks (development in relations between the Greeks and the Turks, the history of the conflict and the actual state of the situation). Then the work talks about the geography of the island (from physical and social-economical point of view). The goal of the work was to introduce you with the ethnic problems that happen in Cyprus and to create compact work about the island itself. The main method that was used to build the work was method of resource compilation. Conflicts between the ethnic groups on the island come from the far history of both ethnics and the distinction already lasts for very long time. For the past two years their have been negotiation about uniting the island, however the problem is so complicated, that the inhabitans of the island will probably have to wait couple of years before any solution will be made.
