Sheers v těchto hrách sleduje zejména projevy PTSD a další dopady traumatických válečných zážitků na psychiku vojáků, kteří se vrátili z války v Afganistánu či Iráku. Hlavním záměrem práce je prostudovat, jakým způsobem Sheers reflektuje problematiku dnešní války, její důsledky a vliv především na psychiku vojáků a spolu s tím také některá její specifika, která nemají v historii obdobu. V analytických kapitolách jsou detailně rozebrána tři stěžejní témata těchto her, tj. motivace pro vstup do armády, zachycení postavy vojáka a důsledky války především na psychiku a také rodiny vojáků. Dále tyto kapitoly také poukazují na využití různých výrazových prostředků i literárních forem a zkoumají, jakých efektů mohl či chtěl autor děl docílit tímto specifickým působením na čtenáře/diváka/posluchače. This diploma thesis focuses on two theater plays by contemporary Welsh author Owen Sheers, The Two Worlds of Charlie F and Pink Mist. In both plays Sheers portrays PTSD and other effects of traumatic experiences on the psyche of soldiers who came back from war in Afghanistan or Iraq. The main aim of this thesis is to study how Sheers reflects the issue of today's war, its effects on soldiers' psyche and also some of its specifics that have no parallel in history. The analytical chapters examine in detail the three crucial topics of the plays, i.e. soldiers' motivation to join the army, the portrayal of soldiers as theater characters, and the effects of war on soldiers' psyche as well as on their family members. These chapters also concentrate on the use of different expressions and literary forms and study the effects that Sheers wanted to have on his audience. Another responsib.
