Vedoucí práce Barbora Řebíková Abstract Bakalářská práce s názvem Dobrovolně skromný život a etická (ne)obhajitelnost konzumního způsobu života předkládá teoretické uchopení etické problematiky konzumního způsobu života a představení jeho alternativy, tedy života dobrovolně skromného. V rámci seznámení čtenáře se zkoumanou problematikou práce představuje základy environmentální etiky, včetně směrů ekologické etiky jako antropocentrismus, teocentrismus, biocentrismus či ekocentrismus. Práce se v samostatné kapitole zabývá pojmem dobrovolné skromnosti, přičemž představuje motivaci k takovému způsobu života, klíčové aspekty střídmého života s největším důrazem na české prostředí a problematiku z pohledu českých autorů, zejména Hany Librové, která prováděla k tomuto stylu života výzkum. Dobrovolně skromný život je v rámci filosoficko-etického zkoumání porovnáván s hodnotami konzumní společnosti. V závěrečné fázi se zabývá otázkou, zda je koncept dobrovolné skromnosti možným řešením ekologické krize a úskalími této otázky. The title of this bachelor's thesis is Voluntary simplicity and ethical (in)defensibility of the consumerist way of life and it presents a theoretical understanding of the ethical issue of the consumerist way of life and the presentation of its alternative, i.e. the voluntarily modest life. As part of familiarizing the reader with the issue, the theses presents the basics of environmental ethics, including trends in ecological ethics such as anthropocentrism, theocentrism, biocentrism or ecocentrism. In a separate chapter, the thesis deals with the concept of voluntary simplicity, while presenting the motivation for such a way of life, key aspects of a modest life with the greatest emphasis on the Czech environment, and especially from the point of view of Czech author, Hana Librová, who conducted research on this lifestyle. Voluntarily simple living is compared to the values of consumerist society in the context of philosophical and ethical research. In the final stage, the thesis addresses the question of whether the concept of voluntarily simple living is a possible solution to the ecological crisis and the challenges of this question.
