The main theme of this bachelor thesis is a comparative analysis of the science fiction novel The Day of the Triffids and its film adaptation of the same name. It deals with the problems of adaptation and briefly describes the adaptation models. McFarlane's adaptation model presented in the book Novel to Film: An Introduction to the Theory of Adaptation is considered the crucial one.
