Poskytuje společnosti statek ve formě separace pachatele trestného činu, zamezení jeho recidivy a snaží se ho převychovat. Cílem práce je zhodnotit hospodaření Vězeňské služby v České republice v letech 2008-2012 a zanalyzovat z hlediska financování i hospodaření. Teoretická část obsahuje základní informace o Vězeňské službě České republiky včetně její historie, poslání, úkolů, členění věznic, organizační struktury, zaměstnanců a současném stavu. Dále se zabývá státním rozpočtem. Konkrétně jeho členěním, tvorbou, schválením, plněním, příjmy a výdaji. V praktické části je ukázán vývoj příjmů a výdajů státního rozpočtu. Mezi výdaje patří například platy zaměstnanců, zaměstnanost vězňů a sociální dávky, které jsou podrobně rozebrány. Dále práce obsahuje vertikální a horizontální analýzu Vězeňské služby České republiky. Závěrem praktické části jsou uvedeny návrhy na zdokonalení financování, kterými je například větší využití alternativních trestů, zvýšení zaměstnanosti vězněných osob a zlepšení výběru pohledávek za vězni. The bachelor thesis delicated to the economy of the prison, which falls within the public sector. It provides goods to our society in the form of separation of offenders, preventing their recurrence and trying to re-educate them. The aim is to evaluate the economy of the Prison Service in the Czech Republic from 2008-2010 and to analyze it from the point of view of financing and management. The theoretical part contains the basic information about the Prison Service in the Czech Republic, including its history, mission, tasks, classification of prisons, organizational structure, staff and present situation. It also deals with the state budget. In particular, its division, creation, approval, fulfillment, revenues and expenditures. The practical part shows development of revenues and expenditures of the state budget. The expenditures include salaries, employment of prisoners and social benefits, which are discussed in detail. Further more the thesis contains vertical and horizontal analyses of the Prison service in the Czech Republic. At the end of the practical part there are suggestions for improvement in financing, which is for example greater exploiting of alternative punishments, increase in prisoners' employment and improvement in the recovery of prisoners' claims.
