Tato práce by měla především demonstrovat obrovský vliv přírody, z hlediska ekosystémových služeb, její nepostradatelnou a významnou roli v životě a pro existenci člověka, ale i ostatního života, a také důležitou roli ekonomiky a lidské činnosti (resp. průmyslové činnosti), přestože v mnoha směrech přírodu devastuje. Dále by tato práce měla předkládat určitá srovnání těchto dvou navzájem více či méně protikladných kategorií, jež jsou významné pro celou lidskou společnost a bez kterých se člověk neobejde. To všechno je prezentováno na konkrétních lokalitách na území města Plzně. Lokalitou přírodě blízkou byl zvolen Borský park a lokalitou ovlivněnou průmyslovou činností Plzeňská teplárenská a.s. Obě lokality, jejich služby a funkce jsou významné a nezbytné pro obyvatele města Plzně. The thesis Comparison of ecological and economic benefits and costs in selected areas of Pilsen deals with the comparison of the positive and negative influences impacting on the human population and life on the Earth in general in areas near to the countryside and in areas affected by industrial activities. This thesis should, above all, illustrate the huge influence on the countryside, in terms of ecosystem services, its indispensable and significant role in the life and existence of humans and other organisms and the important role of economic and human activities (let us say industrial activities), in spite of the devastation caused to nature in many ways. Furthermore, this thesis should present comparisons of these more or less opposing categories, which are significant for the whole world and without which humans would not exist. This is all presented using actual locations in the Pilsen area. The areas selected for investigation are: near to the countryside - Borsky park, and the area affected by industrial activities - Plzenska Teplarenska company.
