Abstract Tato práce se zabývá využitím písní ve výuce anglického jazyka. Cílem této práce je ověřit dané hypotézy spojené s využitím písní na základní škole. Celá práce se zabývá motivačním charakterem písní a jejich využití v různých oblastech anglického jazyka. This thesis is focused on using songs in English classes for elementary students. It looks at many beneficial aspects of songs but above all its main goal is to confirm that songs play an important role in the learning process. Songs should be used as a motivational factor as well as an educational component. To obtain the results I gathered information from student's questionnaires, teacher's questionnaires and observation of the class during my teaching. Research that is carried out in this thesis deals with three hypotheses related to the motivational strength of songs and using music for teaching in different areas of language.
