Zabývá se především informacemi k dané problematice a jejich zařazením do celkového kontextu výkladu dějin římského impéria. Zachycuje rovněž vymezení základních rovin problémů ve východní politice a její utváření až do první poloviny šestého století našeho letopočtu, především s důrazem na vojensko-politické vztahy Říma se Sasánovskou říší.. -- Abstrakt: This thesis deals with the Eastern policy of the Roman Empire in the work Res Gestae by the Graeco-Roman historiographer and soldier Ammianus Marcellinus. It is concerned primarily with the information on the subject and its inclusion in the overall context of history interpretation of the Roman Empire. It also captures the definition of the basic levels of the problems of Eastern politics and its formation until the first half of the sixth century AD, with particular emphasis on the military-political relations of Rome with the Sasanian Empire.
