Ostraha státní hranice s Německou demokratickou republikou v působnosti 3. bPS Karlovy Vary v letech 1952-1966 / Tomáš Švestka. -- 2021. -- 224 listů : ilustrace. -- Oponent Martin Veselý. -- Vedoucí práce Petr Karlíček. -- Abstrakt: V této práci se zabývám ostrahou státní hranice s Německou demokratickou republikou v působnosti 3. karlovarské brigády Pohraniční stráže v letech 1952-1966. V práci se zaměřuji na vznik a formování 3. brigády, na její strukturu a způsob zabezpečení hranice ve sledovaném období. K získání poznatků o formování brigády bylo využito především písemných pramenů z vlastní provenience brigády. Pro získání podrobnějších informací o způsobu zabezpečení státní hranice v působnosti brigády pak byly využity také prameny písemné a obrazové. K dosažení výsledku této práce byly dostupné prameny v potřebném rozsahu podrobeny rozboru a prozkoumány. Od vzniku brigády se její struktura v prvních čtyřech letech několikrát změnila. Po dosažení optimálního rozmístění jednotek na hranici setrval tento stav beze změn až do roku 1963, kdy došlo k přechodu na četový systém ostrahy hranice. V této podobě pak struktura vydržela až do zániku brigády v roce 1966. Ženijnětechnická opatření k zabezpečení hranice byla budována ihned od zahájení vojskového střežení hranice s NDR. Likvidována byla až ke dni ukončení činnosti brigády.. -- Abstrakt: In this thesis I deal with the protection of the state border with the German Democratic Republic within the sphere of action of the 3rd Karlovy Vary Brigade of the Border Guard in the years of 1952-1966. I focus on the creation and formation of the 3rd Brigade, its structure and the way of securing the border in the period under study. Mainly written sources from the brigade's own provenance were used to gain knowledge about the formation of the brigade. In order to obtain more detailed information about the way of securing the state border in the Brigade's area of responsibility, written and visual sources were also used. The result of the thesis was achieved by analysing and examining the available sources to the necessary extent. The structure of the brigade changed several times in the first four years following its formation. Once the optimal deployment of units on the border was achieved, this remained unchanged until 1963, when the transition to the platoon system of border security was made. The structure remained in this form until the brigade's abolishment in 1966. The engineer measures to secure the border were built up immediately after the beginning of the military guarding of the border with the GDR. They were liquidated only on the date when the brigade's activity ended.
