První kapitola této práce se věnuje základním informacím o stáří, stárnutí, seniorech a jejich autonomii. Popisuje změny, jež přirozeně provázejí období stáří, včetně změn potřeb. Uvádí formy péče o seniory a stručný přehled sociálních služeb pro seniory. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na metodologii výzkumu. Obsahuje cíl výzkumu, výzkumné otázky, popis výzkumného vzorku a výzkumné metody a rovněž způsob, jakým celý výzkum probíhal. Cílem výzkumu bylo popsat průběh adaptace seniorů na život v pobytovém zařízení a analyzovat faktory, které ovlivňují průběh tohoto procesu. Třetí kapitola se zabývá přijetím seniora do domova pro seniory a změnami, k nimž dochází prakticky ihned po jeho příchodu. Informuje o základních rizicích ústavní péče a zdejším životě klientů. Poslední kapitola této práce se orientuje na adaptační proces seniorů v domově pro seniory. Vymezuje samotný pojem adaptace, dále popisuje její průběh a uvádí přehled rizikových i pozitivních faktorů, které ovlivňují adaptační proces. Obsahuje také předpoklady, jež vedou k úspěšné adaptaci seniorů na život v pobytovém zařízení, zjištěných na základě výpovědí informantů výzkumu.. -- Abstrakt: This bachelor thesis analyses challenges related to the acclimatisation of senior citizens into nursing homes. The first chapter focuses on basic facts about the old age, aging, elderly people and their autonomy. It describes natural changes to human's lives linked to aging as well as changes of their basic needs. It also presents various forms of caring and social services available for elderly people. The second chapter focuses on methodology of the research. It presents the aim of the research with its questions and methods used, descriptions of the researched sample as well as the whole process of the research. The goal of the research was to describe the course of the senior citizen's acclimatisation for a new life in a nursing home along with other factors affecting this process. The third chapter is dealing with the initial period of change when elderly people move into nursing homes and describes related shifts in their lives. It discusses basic facts about challenges occurring in constitutional establishments and the lifestyle of those who live in them. The last chapter of this thesis focuses on the process of acclimatisation for elderly people to the life inside nursing homes. It defines the concept of acclimatisation itself and describes the process with both the positive and the negative factors. It also presents conditions that lead to a successful acclimatisation of elderly people to a life inside the nursing homes based on surveys carried out for this research.
