Tato práce se bude nejprve zabývat teoretickou částí, ve které autorka porovná metodu Tiché cesty, z nichž "Cuisenaire rods" pochází s komunikativní metodou učení. Dále autorka popíše aktivity, které lze s touto pomůckou v hodinách anglického jazyka vykonávat. V praktické části bude vybrané aktivity ověřovat ve výuce. Provede kvalitativní výzkum za pomocí dotazníků pro žáky a pozorovacího protokolu pro učitele. Autorka sama se výuky zúčastní a zaznamená také svůj pohled. Nakonec vyhodnotí jednotlivé aktivity a shrne klady a zápory, které pomůcka nabízí.. -- Abstrakt: This diploma thesis is focused on the efficiency of using Cuisenaire rods as a didactic tool in English lessons at a lower secondary school. Firstly, the author will compare the Silent Way method from which Cuisenaire rods originate with Communicative Language Teaching. Then there will be a description of the activities used with this tool in English lessons. The author will verify these activities in the lessons. She will conduct a qualitative research with the help of questionnaires and an observation sheet. The author will be presented in the lessons and she will also state her point of view. At the end of the work, she will summarize the advantages and disadvantages of using this tool in English lessons.
