My work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes the problems of old age as one of the stages of human life, defines the terms like old age, aging, mentions mental disorders in old age and the issue of elderly care is complemented by definition of social services, quality standards of social services and individual planning in social services. The practical part deals with the quality of life of the seniors in Krupka who are the recipi-ents of the nursing services. In my work I have used the method of the questionnaire sur-vey by way of standardized questionnaires "Škála deprese pro geriatrické pacienty" a " Dotazník životní spokojenosti".
