Úvodní kapitola se zabývá problematikou hospodářství České republiky, jeho vývojem a současnou situací, dále je zde popsán průmysl České republiky, jeho klasifikace, faktory, které průmysl ovlivňují a charakteristika jednotlivých průmyslových odvětví. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na problematiku chemického průmyslu, na jeho vývoj a současnou situaci, dělení chemického průmyslu a hlavní světové oblasti s výskytem chemického průmyslu. Následující kapitola se zabývá charakteristikou chemického průmyslu v České republice, jeho historií a současnou situací. Zaměstnaností v chemickém průmyslu, jeho konkurenčním postavení na trhu a dále pak analýzou firem zabývající se chemickým průmyslem. Poslední čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá hospodářstvím ústeckého kraje a následně analýzou vybraných firem ústeckého kraje, které podnikají v chemickém průmyslu, vývojem jejich tržeb, čistých zisků a personální politikou.. -- Abstrakt: This thesis deals with the analysis and the possibilities of the development of the chemical industry in the region Ústí nad Labem. The introduction engages in the economy of the Czech Republic, its development and present situation. Next there is the description of the Czech industry, its classification, factors, which affect the industry and the characteristic of each industry branch. The second chapter is aimed at the chemical industry, its development and the current situation, the division of the chemical industry and the main world areas, in which the chemical industry occurs. The next chapter pursues the characteristic of the chemical industry in the Czech Republic, its history and the current situation, the employment in the chemical industry, its competitive position, the analysis of the companies, which deal in the chemical industry. The last, the fourth chapter, is concerned with the economy of the region Ústí nad Labem and consequently with the analysis of the chosen companies of the region Ústí nad Labem, which run a business in the chemical industry, with the evolution of their revenues, their net profits and human resources policy.
