V teoretické části jsem se zabývala stářím a projevy stárnutí, demencí, její klasifikací a fázemi onemocnění. Dále jsem se zaměřila na možnosti nefarmakologické léčby demencí, mezi něž patří i arteterapie. U té jsem podrobněji popsala její cíle, prostředky a formy. V praktické části jsem popsala realizovaný arteterapeutický program. Ke zjištění případné změny psychického stavu klientů jsem použila testů MMSE, BEHAVE-AD a Testu hodin. Jednotlivá měření jsem realizovala v tříměsíčních intervalech v průběhu celého půlročního arteterapeutického programu.. -- Abstrakt: The subjekt of my dissertation was to find what effect Art Therapy has on the mental health of a group of patiens with dementia. In the foundation part of the dissertation, I researched ageing and its signs, dementia and its forms, and the phases of the disease. I then investigated the possibility of non pharmacological treatment of dementia, which also includes Art Therapy. I explained the objectives, techniques and forms of Art Therapy. In the practical part I explained the Art Therapy programme I applied. To determine a possible change of the psychological health of the patiens, I used MMSE, BEHAVE-AD and Clock Drawing Test. I carried out the tests each three months during the half a year of the programme.
