Oponent Jan Brabec Abstrakt Energetické společnosti se musí přizpůsobovat stále přísnějším požadavkům na ochranu životního prostředí a novým předpisům z této oblasti. Bakalářská práce se zabývá dopady regulací emisí skleníkových plynů na provoz vybrané elektrárny. Cílem práce je vyhodnocení vlivu regulací systému emisního obchodování na fungování provozu elektrárny Ledvice společnosti ČEZ, a.s., a to i s ohledem ke stávajícím a nově implementovaným technologiím v provozu elektrárny Ledvice a vlivu těchto regulací na budoucí strategii společnosti. Praktická část práce se skládá z kvantitativního a kvalitativního výzkumu. Na základě dat veřejně dostupné databáze Evropské komise, které se týkají alokace emisních povolenek a vyprodukovaných emisí daného zařízení, jsou za jednotlivé roky fungování systému emisního obchodování sestaveny časové řady. Výsledky jsou vyhodnoceny pomocí metody charakteristiky časových řad. V kvalitativní části výzkumu je ke sběru sekundárních dat získaných z veřejně dostupných dokumentů, účetních výkazů a výročních zpráv společnosti použita analýza dokumentů. Výsledky výzkumu jsou doplněny o zjištěné poznatky ze vstupního rozhovoru se zástupcem provozu elektrárny. Pomocí provedených analýz se prokázalo, že náklady na emisní povolenky hrají roli při rozhodování společnosti o investování do modernějších technologií a že emisní povolenka mohla být vnímána společností jako motivační nástroj k tomu, aby se elektrárna modernizovala na základě udělené výjimky na bezplatnou alokaci emisních povolenek. Z výsledků analýzy, která se týkala dopadů systému EU ETS na budoucí strategii společnosti bylo zjištěno, že systém EU ETS je jen jedním z faktorů, který má na strategii společnosti dopad a ta je vytvořena podle požadavků tohoto legislativního rámce. Společnost přizpůsobuje své strategické plány a cíle tomuto systému. Dalším faktorem, který ovlivňuje strategii společnosti je zvyšující se tlak ze strany investorů a finančních institucí, kteří posuzují své budoucí partnery podle jejich přístupu k eliminaci emisí a ke zmírňování změn klimatu. Výsledky práce přispějí k hlubšímu poznání dopadů environmentálních regulací na jednu konkrétní společnost a k tomu, jak se tyto dopady promítají do strategie společnosti. Jsou přínosné i jako podklad pro rozhodování orgánům veřejné správy při procesu přechodu ke klimatické neutralitě, který se nejvíce dotkne energetického odvětví. Práce pomůže rozšířit i povědomí široké veřejnosti o problematice těchto dopadů na energetický sektor. Energy companies must adapt to increasingly stricter requirements for environmental protection and new restrictions in this area. This thesis deals with the impacts of environmental regulation on the operation of a selected power plant. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the increasing impact of the regulation of the emissions trading system on the operating costs of the Ledvice power plant of ČEZ, a.s., even with regard to existing and newly implemented technologies in the operation of the Ledvice power plant and the impact of this regulations on the company´s future strategy. The practical part of the work consists of quantitative and qualitative research. On the basis of data from the publicly available database of the European Commission, which relate to the allocation of emission allowances and produced emissions of a given installation, time series are compiled for individual years of operation of the emissions trading system. The results are evaluated using the time series characteristic method. In the qualitative part of the research, document analysis is used to collect secondary data obtained from publicly available documents, financial statements and annual reports of the company. The results of the research are supplemented by the findings from the initial interview with a representative of the power plant operation. The analyzes showed that the cost of emission allowances plays a role in the company's decision to invest in more modern technologies and that the emission allowance could be perceived by the company as an incentive tool to modernize the plant under the exemption for free allocation. The results of the analysis of the impacts of the EU ETS on the future strategy and functioning of the company showed that the EU ETS is only one of the factors that has an impact on the company's strategy and it is created in accordance with the requirements of this legislative framework. The company is adapting its strategic plans and goals to this system. Another factor that influences the company's strategy is the increasing pressure from investors and financial institutions, who assess their future partners according to their approach to eliminating emissions and mitigating climate change. The results of the work will contribute to a deeper understanding of the impacts of environmental regulations on one particular company and how these impacts are reflected in the company's strategy. They are also useful as a basis for decision-making by public authorities in the process of transition to climate neutrality, which will most affect the energy sector.
