Dále práce nastiňuje problematiku adaptace a poskytuje stručný přehled adaptačních modelů. Za stěžejní je zvolen dvoučlenný adaptační model filmového teoretika Briana McFarlana rozebraný v knize Novel to Film: An Introduction to the Theory of Adaptation, který je přizpůsoben potřebám práce. Výsledky, na které jsme analýzou přišli, jsou popsány v závěru.. -- Abstrakt: The main theme of this bachelor thesis is a comparative analysis of the science fiction novel The Day of the Triffids and its film adaptation of the same name. It deals with the problems of adaptation and briefly describes the adaptation models. McFarlane's adaptation model presented in the book Novel to Film: An Introduction to the Theory of Adaptation is considered the crucial one. The results of the thesis are summarized in the conclusion.
