Vymezuje jednotlivé koncepty týkající se problematiky stáří a stárnutí z pohledu adaptace a samotný průběh adaptace seniorů v pobytovém zařízení domova pro seniory. Práce je orientována výhradně na zařízení Domov důchodců Bystřany. Domov důchodců Bystřany poskytuje 3 typy sociálních služeb, a to domov pro seniory, domov se zvláštním režimem a denní stacionář. Šetření bude zahrnovat pouze klienty domova pro seniory. Téma adaptace seniorů je dlouhodobě součástí diskursu sociální práce a cílem této práce je na základě analýzy pozitivních a negativních faktorů tohoto procesu vypracovat návrh optimálního procesu adaptace klientů - seniorů, jež by mohl přispět k efektivnější práci s klienty v období adaptace v daném zařízení.. -- Abstrakt: This thesis examines the adaptation process by service users of homes for the elderly. It defines various concepts related to age and ageing issues from the perspective of the actual course of adaptation as well as the adaptation of the client group, those elderly in need of care, to residential home facilities for the elderly. Focusing exclusively on the Bystřany Retirement Home facility, which provides three types of social services (a home for seniors, special arrangements and a day care facility), the investigation will include only clients of the home for the elderly. The topic of adaptation of this client group has long been a part of social work discourse and the aim of this thesis is based on the analysis of both positive and negative factors of this process in order to develop an optimal adaptation process of clients and thus contribute to a more effective working relationship during the adaptation period.
