Ve své úvodní části se zabývá historií letních a zimních her od počátku po současnost a obměnami disciplín, které zahrnuje. Snaží se zde také tyto změny vysvětlit a zdůvodnit. V hlavní a obsáhlejší části práce je obsažena podrobná charakteristika sportů, které na X-Games figurovaly, či stále figurují. Je zde popsán a vysvětlen princip a podsata těchto disciplín, jejich historie a pravidla. Dále se nachází výběr a charakteristika nejvýznamějších osobností her, včetně přímých českých účastníků X-Games se stručným přehledem jejich největších sportovních úspěchů. Důležitost práce tkví převážně ve snaze informovat českou veřejnost o X-Games jako takových a o adrenalinových sportovních disciplínách, o nichž je v češtině napsáno velmi málo, z čehož u nás vyplývá nízká informovanost a velmi úzký rozhled v dané problematice. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of Adrenaline Sports Olympic Games - the X-Games. In the opening part it describes the history of the summer and winter X-Games from their origins up to the present day and also various changes of the events. It also attempts to explain and give reasons for these changes. The main and more detailed part of my thesis includes extended characteristics of particular sports which figured, or still figure, in the X-Games events. We describe and explain the principles and the essence of these events, their history and rules. Further on the thesis contains a selection of the most prominent competitors of the X-Games, including participants from the Czech Republic, together with their characteristics and brief review of their biggest sports achievments. The importance of this thesis lies mainly in its aspiration to inform the Czech public about the X-Games as such and about adrenaline sports in general. So far, only very little has been written about adrenaline sports in Czech, which leads to a very sporadic awareness of this particular topic among the Czech public.
