The thesis includes chapters discussing a postmodern ideology, with a focus on those theories that are used in the novel´s analysis. Other chapters examine a literary Christ figure as well and the author of the novel Carson McCullers. The main analysis of the thesis then wants to demonstrate how John Singer is depicted as a Christ Figure and how discussed postmodernist theories influenced this depiction.
