Cílem je analyzovat postavu Johna Singera jako literární vyobrazení Krista a ukázat, jak tato postava byla ovlivněna ideologií postmodernismu. Tato práce obsahuje kapitoly zabývající se ideologií postmodernismu s důrazem na ty teorie, které jsou použity k analýze knihy. Další kapitoly zkoumají literární postavu Krista a autorku knihy Carson McCullers. Hlavním cílem analýzy práce je posléze demonstrovat, jak John Singer je vyobrazen jako postava Krista a jak zmiňované teorie ovlivňují toto vyobrazení.. -- Abstrakt: This bachelor's thesis attempts to examine and analyze the character of John Singer from the novel The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. This thesis aims to analyze John Singer as a literary Christ figure and then showcase how the character of Christ is influenced by postmodern ideology. The thesis includes chapters discussing a postmodern ideology, with a focus on those theories that are used in the novel´s analysis. Other chapters examine a literary Christ figure as well and the author of the novel Carson McCullers. The main analysis of the thesis then wants to demonstrate how John Singer is depicted as a Christ Figure and how discussed postmodernist theories influenced this depiction.
