Viramontes [rukopis] / Barbora Volhejnová. -- 2013. -- 39 l. -- Ved. práce Dana Sedlmajerová. -- Abstrakt: Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá prvky multikulturalismu ve sbírce krátkých povídek The Moths and Other Stories od hispánsko-americké spisovatelky Heleny Marie Viramontes. Tyto povídky časově spadají do období multikulturních změn ve Spojených státech amerických v období 60. a 70. let. Práce se soustřeďuje na ženské postavy, které se potýkají s útlakem, rasovými předsudky a kulturními a generačními střety. Skrze tyto postavy H. M. Viramontes promlouvá k hispánským ženám a vyzdvihuje jejich morální hodnoty. Úkolem mé práce je ukázat, jak i fiktivní postavy mohou fungovat jako inspirace pro určitou komunitu. Kromě toho tato bakalářská práce představuje H. M. Viramontes jako hlavního představitele hispánské komunity žijící ve Spojených státech. Tato práce se také zabývá problematikou asimilace a otázkou zachování důstojnosti Hispánců žijících v Americe. Poslední část této bakalářské práce se zaměřuje na styl psaní H. M. Viramontes.. -- Abstrakt: This bachelor thesis intends to study the elements of multiculturalism in the collection of short stories The Moths and Other Stories by Hispanic American writer Helena Maria Viramontes, concentrating on the period of multicultural changes in the United States during the 60's and 70's. The work places emphasis on female characters that deal with women's oppression, racial prejudices and cultural and generational clashes. Through them H.M.Viramontes gives voice to Hispanic women and challenges their ethic values. The aim of my thesis is to demonstrate how even fictional characters can function as an inspiration for a certain community. The thesis presents H. M. Viramontes as a key representative of the Hispanic community living in the United States. This bachelor thesis also studies the question of assimilation and preserving dignity of Hispanic Americans. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the writing style of H. M. Viramontes.
