V teoretické části se popisuje historický vznik a vývoj hasičské funkce, za pomoci výzkumu v terénu a příkladu českých vesnic včetně jejich obyvatel, kteří se dlouhodobě věnují dobrovolné činnosti. Praktická část představuje ilustrovanou knihu s krátký popisky, která provádí čtenáře od prvního setkání lidí s ohněm, jeho ovládnutí, také vznikem dobrovolných hasičů a jejich celkovém rozsahu práce.. -- Abstrakt: The diploma thesis aims to acquaint the reader with the phenomenon of volunteer firefighters and the realities of village life. The theoretical part describes the historical origin and development of the firefighting function, with the help of field research and the example of Czech villages, including their inhabitants, who have long been engaged in voluntary activities. The practical part presents an illustrated book with short descriptions, which guides the reader from the first meeting of people with fire, its control, as well as the emergence of volunteer firefighters and their overall scope of work.
