Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na charakteristiku stáří, stárnutí a elementární změny spojené se závěrečnou fází života. Přibližuje postavení seniora ve společnosti, tak demografické hodnoty v České republice s ohledem na vybraný kraj. Závěrečná kapitola tohoto segmentu přináší charakteristiku vzdělávání seniorů, jeho typy, tak přehled možností vzdělávání pro seniory. Empirická část práce je zacílena na identifikaci vzdělávacích možností seniorské populace na území Ústeckého kraje. Formou výzkumu kvantitativního charakteru jsou získána data od respondentů-seniorů na území vybraného kraje. Následuje realizace šetření, zpracování a interpretace výsledků.. -- Abstrakt: This diploma thesis deals with the issue of possibilities of education in old age with orientation in the Ústí Region. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the characteristics of old age, aging and elementary changes associated with the final phase of life. It approaches the position of seniors in society and demographic values in the Czech Republic with respect to the selected region. The final chapter of this segment brings the characteristics of seniors' education, its types, and an overview of the training options for seniors. The empirical part of the thesis is targeted on the identification of the educational possibilities of the senior population on the territory of the Ústí nad Labem Region. Quantitative research is based on data from respondents-seniors on the territory of the selected region. This is followed by an investigation, processing and interpretation of the results.
