Závěrečná kapitola sleduje postupný nástup normalizačního procesu v Karlových Varech.. -- Abstrakt: This Diploma Thesis deals with the development of Karlovy Vary region between the years 1967-1970. The first main chapter is dedicated to the geographical, demographical and situational characteristics of this West Bohemian part of the Czech republic in the timeline mentioned above. The second main chapter deals with social and political situation during the year 1968. There are also included the cultural aspects. The third and the last chapter of the thesis deals with the beginning of the normalization process in this region. The focus is put on the situation in August 1968, when the Warszaw Pact soldiers entered the country and it is also focused on the political changes in 1969.
