Světoznámý spisovatel, politický aktivista a držitel Nobelovy ceny míru, Eliezer Wiesel, se stal očitým svědkem zločinů, které byly za války páchány na Židech. Patří k autorům, jež poskytují úplné svědectví o koncentračních táborech. Wieselovo stěžejním dílem se stala autobiografická novela Noc, jejímž rozpracováním vznikla díla ostatní. Práce se zabývá též otázkami života, proměn judaismu, druhou světovou válkou, problematikou rasismu, a v neposlední řadě se zaměřuje na širší témata, kterými jsou holokaust či antisemitismus. Tato teoretická studie poskytuje srovnání judaismu s křesťanstvím a zabývá se židovsko-křesťanskými vztahy v průběhu dějin. Zabývá se historií Wieselova rodného města Sighet, o kterém se pojednává ve všech Wieselových dílech. Ve srovnání s dějinami se dostává do moderní doby, kterou stále ohrožuje náboženský fanatismus. Na závěr se zaměřuje na další spisovatele židovského původu, na něž Wiesel ve svém díle odkazuje.. -- Abstrakt: The diploma dissertation appears from the biography of Elie Wiesel and his primary works. The world-famous writer, political activist and Nobel Peace Prize - Laureate, Eliezer Wiesel, became one of the eye-witness of crimes, that have been commited of the Jews at war. He belongs to the authors, that give the evidence about concentration camps. The pivotal work of Wiesel has been the autobiografical nouvell Night, whit their working out originated the other works. The dissertation is as well engaged with the questions of the lifes, metamorphoses of the Jewry, with the World War II, the issue of the racism, and last but not least ist focusing on the wider themes, that are holocaust and antisemitism. This theoretical study offers the comparism of the Jewry and Christianity and engages with the Jewry-Christian realtions in the course of the history. It offers with the history of Wiesel home town Sighet, of this is disserts on the all Wiesel´s works. In the confrontation to history is going to the modern time, that is always threated with the religious fanaticism. In conclusion it adress on the Jewish writers, to what Wiesel adverts in his work.
