Stať pojednávající o vývoji symfonického a operního orchestru je doplněna názornými ukázkami notových partitur. Součástí práce je také kapitola věnující se pedagogickému využití hry na žesťové nástroje, přičemž jsou rozebrány nejpodstatnější zásady aranžování.. -- Abstrakt: The topic of diploma paper is the brass section of the symphonic orchestra and its development since the Mannheim school till the end of the 20th century. The first chapter contains several basic subheads. The sequence of the harmonic tones is examined and two illustrations are attached. Trace measurement of the brass instruments is clarified, this unit of measure results from the lenght of the fluepipe. Articles with topics of tuning, notational systems and function of valves ensue. The major passage dealing with the brass section of the symphonic orchestra is divided into two large parts - in the first instance individually according to instruments, and further generally in accordance with the chronological development. This part includes some illustrations of the scores typical for a given period. It was quite difficult to decide which pieces of which componists to choose, but finally well known pieces or pieces well representing a given period are mentioned. The last chapter devoted to a pedagogical use is concerned about playing in the chamber ensembles. Advantages and disadvantages of various instrumental configurations are mentioned, namely with respect to sound aspects and optimal register of used instruments. The most important arrangment principles for eventuality of own musical arrangements are outlined, some existent compositions or instrumentations for brass ensembles are listed.
