Bakalářská práce se zabývá interpretací a komparací vybraných próz autorů E. A. Poea, Villiers de l´Isle - Adama a V. R. Krameria. Přesněji jsou komparovány tyto dvojice povídek: Jáma a kyvadlo (od E. A. Poea) a Železná košile (od V. R. Krameria); Eleonora (od E. A. Poea) a Natálie (od Villierse de l´Isle - Adama); Zrádné srdce (od E. A. Poea) a Škrtič labutí (od Villierse de l´Isle - Adama). Teoretickou část práce představují definice žánru povídky a definice žánru hororu, dále následují krátké medailony autorů. Práce se zaměřuje na interpretaci užitých motivů, vypravěčských postupů, básnických prostředků apod., v komparaci jsou vytyčeny společné a rozdílné prvky jednotlivých próz. Závěr obsahuje zamyšlení nad tím, jakým způsobem mohli vybraní autoři ovlivnit literaturu, která po nich následovala. Trněný, L. Interpretation and comparison of selected proses of E. A. This bachelor thesis deals with an interpretation and comparison of various prose written by E. A. Poe, Villiers de l´Isle - Adam and V. R. Kramerius. The paper concentrates on a comparison of the following pairs of short stories: The Pit and the Pendulum (by E. A. Poe) and Železná košile (The Iron Shirt) (by V. R. Kramerius); Eleonora (by E. A. Poe) and Sister Natalia (by Villiers de l´Isle - Adam); The Tell-tale Heart (by E. A. Poe) and The Swan-killer (by Villiers de l´Isle - Adam). The theoretical part of the paper involves a definition of the genre of short stories and a definition of the horror genre. This is followed by brief profiles of the authors. The paper concentrates on interpreting the themes used, the narrative approaches, poetic devices etc. and marks out elements of the individual pieces of prose that are common and those that are different. The conclusion considers the ways in which the selected authors could have influenced the literature that followed them.
