Note Ved. práce Dana Sedlmajerová Abstract Předložená bakalářská práce má za úkol představit vybraná díla (The Dharma Bums, Naked Lunch) dvou prozaiků patřících do beatnické generace, Jacka Kerouaca a Williama S. Burroughse, kteří svou tvorbou ovlivnili pohled na moderní poválečnou americkou literaturu, a uvede názory obou autorů na situaci ve společnosti. Výše uvedená díla budou rozebrána v kontextu událostí padesátých let dvacátého století. Práce představí témata obou děl, jejich symboliku a zejména pak kritický pohled na soudobou americkou společnost. Součástí práce bude i představení životů obou autorů a zdůraznění významných milníků, jež je v tvorbě ovlivnily a z nichž autoři čerpali náměty pro své romány. Práce se také pozastaví u významu beatnické generace pro naši soudobou kulturu. This work's primary task is to present selected works (The Dharma Bums, Naked Lunch)of two novelists belonging to the Beat Generation, Jack Kerouac and William S.Burroughs, whose works influenced the modern view of postwar American literature. The other aim is to introduce their views on the situation in society. The thesis will provide an analysis of the above mentioned works in the context of the events of the fifties of the twentieth century: their themes, symbolism, and especially their critical insight on contemporary American society. The Bachelor thesis will present the lives of both authors, highlighting important milestones which affected them in the creation of their novels and which drew ideas to them.
